Set up focus sessions and App Limits on iPhone

Win10min on iPhone combines a focus timer, Roman progress and Apple Screen Time app blocking. This guide describes the published iPhone app, which is separate from the Mac beta. Available features and purchase prices appear in the app and the App Store.

Install the iPhone app and choose one task

Download Win 10 Minutes: Focus Timer from the App Store. Begin with an action you can finish or meaningfully advance during one session, such as drafting a paragraph, reviewing five notes or recording a rehearsal.

A completed timer records focus time. Check the actual work before marking your goal complete. The ten-minute focus guide includes more examples.

Allow Screen Time access before selecting apps

App blocking uses Apple Screen Time controls. Follow the permission request in Win10min, then choose distracting apps using Apple’s selection interface. If you decline permission, the app cannot promise those apps will be blocked.

Keep required work apps out of your distraction selection. Apple controls the permission and shielding behavior; a timer display alone does not establish that blocking is active.

Focus sessions and Daily App Limits

A focus session protects a chosen period of work. Daily App Limits address how long selected apps may be used during the day. Choose a limit and an app selection deliberately; these are different from the Mac beta’s app-window hiding.

Some blocking, scheduling and reporting features require Premium. Check the feature’s access message and the current purchase screen in the app. This guide does not promise that every feature is free.

If blocking does not start

  • Check permission. Confirm that Win10min has the Screen Time authorization requested by the app.
  • Check your selection. Ensure the app you intended to restrict was selected.
  • Check the active rule. A saved schedule is different from a restriction that is active now. Review its time, days and current status in Win10min.
  • Check access and errors. Look for a Premium requirement or a reported activation error. Do not treat a failed activation as successful blocking.

If the problem continues, contact Win10min support with the iPhone model, iOS version, app version and the steps that caused it. Do not include passwords, API keys or private account tokens.

Restore a Premium purchase

Use the app’s purchase-restoration option and the App Store account that made the original purchase. Your iCloud identity, Apple developer account and App Store purchase account can serve different purposes. Avoid buying the same entitlement again just because a restore has not yet succeeded.

If restoration still fails, send support the product and app version involved and the error shown. A successful local restore and server verification of AI access are separate checks in the next testing candidate.

Published app versus a TestFlight candidate

The App Store app and a private TestFlight build can contain different features. The paid-only trial experiment and Censor planning changes under development are not described here as shipped features. TestFlight availability does not mean an App Store release has been published.

Using a Mac too

The Mac focus timer setup guide covers installation and optional local ChatGPT planning. Mac progress, settings and purchases do not sync with iPhone. The apps have different distraction controls and features.
